I am pleased that you are interested in the various programmes of study offered at the School of Engineering which is part of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, one of the leading institutes in Switzerland in the fields of Engineering, Economics, Art & Design, Social Work, Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geomatics, Applied Psychology and Life Sciences as well as Education.
The University is located in one of the most highly industrialised and developed areas of the country. It is thanks to this that the links between research and practice through rapid technology and knowledge transfer play a dominant role in our education and are mirrored in all our courses. Interdisciplinarity is considered of major importance in our teaching. During the past few years, project and process based learning has replaced traditional lectures to a considerable extent.
The University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland with its approx. 6000 students offers highly individualised study programmes, allowing students to put together their own curriculum by choosing mixed classes from the eight faculties mentioned above. The graduates from our institution are among the most highly sought-after professionals in their fields both nationally and internationally.
I look forward to welcoming you to the School of Engineering as a student on either an exchange or a full Bachelor- or Master Programme.
